My dear BHW brothers and sisters, for sure, some of you may already know a thing or two about this law that was signed by our beloved President.

We, the citizens of the Philippines, think that this CYBERCRIME Law In Philippines is worst than SOPA and PIPA. One of the most enraging and alarming content of this law is that, OLD Facebook Posts, Blog Posts, Tweets and even Facebook comments, likes, shares and twitter retweets are all subjected to this law. How? This law includes LIBEL. Online LIBEL with much greater punishment than those libelous act created offline (outside the internet).

Please do check this news website out for more info about this law (October 3 is the implementation date).

    http://www.interaksyon.com/infotech/cybercrime.

What can you say about this? Worst than SOPA and PIPA right?

They are prioritizing this problem instead of the problem in corruption, poverty and other more important things. I am a Filipino and the government spends time doing this kind of laws instead of thinking a way on how to solve other more serious problems.. geez...

Today, the Philippine Supreme Court sitting en banc is set to hear several petitions for prohibition against the Cybercrime Prevention Law. Hope the SC will amend this piece of crap and selfishness!

this has no fang and was just created at a blink of an eye not for the law itself but for purpose of politicians being famous because its election time.

most law takes years to pass, and this just came out of nowhere and was passed immediately.

in short its only a propaganda to make the government officials who signed this famous for the upcoming election

Dear president of the philippines and to the ones who signed this petition,

please arrest first my hundreds of drug addicted neighbors before passing another stupid law.

One of my neighbor hosts a drug den where people come in and out 24/7 and one of my neighbor is a policeman and he is doing nothing about it <<--- i think im not the only one in the philippines who is in the same situation

what are you gonna come up next election season, free dentures for senior citizens?

god i hate government in the philippines

    i thank you bow!

    DK

heard about this shit a couple days ago. have the law makers over there been smoking crack or something? seriously, how in the hell can they justify throwing someone in jail over a damn comment on facebook? next thing you know, you won't be able to breathe air without the governments permission.

It's the Filipinos own fault, unfortunately. They do not engage themselves in political activity as they say, they can't change things. They just let their leaders do what they want to do and find sneaky ways out. Another great example. You guys have to get involved in politicts and not just complain when things don't work out.

Filipino Hackers already began taking Government sites down, but those politicians are not threatened. This law was passed for self interest and nothing else, I hate this leaders in my country.
