Private equity giant CVC Capital Partners has struck a deal to acquire a majority stake in Namecheap, one of the world’s largest independent domain registrars and a direct rival to GoDaddy. The transaction is valued at around \$1.5 billion, including debt, marking one of the biggest deals in the web-hosting and domain industry this year.

so Namecheap will start going downhill now... not that it was very solid over the last few years, but it will probably become worse :)
It'll be fine if they stick to their brand image of being low cost domain registrar. Many piracy sites also use them as a trusted registrar. If they try to quickly get more profits, they'll lose their existing market.

they won't care! Private equity companies (aka parasite companies) will deliberately implement measures that get rid of the masses to keep the high spenders in their ecosystem. And I don't think they care about the high spenders either, they'll just milk everyone of as much money as they can (that's what parasites do) and then move on to another "asset" (victim)

So ExpensiveName or NameExpensive going forward?

Looks like it has taken off. Same CEO, same game plan as NC and even better, with liquid capital now to invest on SS. What do you think?
Not sure what to think (I'm too mentally exhausted and need some sleep). But the first instinct is that SS will take the path of NC, which will take the path of the grave. That's what I think feel at the moment :)

Lol, your feelings are valid. Get some rest!
