Custom Channels (Adsense)

Dear community,

As the Adsense section is closed (in review), I hope I'm not breaking any rules by posting an Adsense-related topic on here. In fact it is about 'Making Money', since the discussion will be regarding Custom Channels.

Does anybody know and could anybody kindly explain from their experience on how do Custom Channels work with Adsense? Are they really helpful to increase the CPC? Moreover, is the CPC increase guaranteed with Custom Channels (offering ads to advertisers)?

Any thoughtful comment would be quite helpful.
