for their IM works at home..
Well, I have 5 Different Connections. So I can say best Connection is Fibre. After That for Me, Wi-Less Device work Better. After that ADSL Connections
I'm on ADSL and you should have posted a poll.
well I still on ADSL ....
many of my colleagues and friends shift to fibre...
my 15mbps adsl cost SG 30++
cheapest fibre in fact i just need to pay close to 10 bucks..
i know many will comment is quite a bargain....
but I didn't do much download.....
next on IM I see don't need much bandwidth perhaps maybe some do a lot on video will need a fast upload , download speed.
that why I still stick to ADSL ...
in future well I don't know..perhaps.one day my telecom will force me upgrade or "conspiracy decrease fibre plan" thus I will upgrade...
A MiFi (WiFi) Dongle (basically a 3G/4G wireless jobbie) No connections to land for me!
Main connection: fiber, 100 Mbps
Secondary connection: mobile phone internet connection, 3G
Not sure, will need to ask my neighbour.
in general there is no difference in having services over Fiber or ADSL. technically Fiber can support huge bandwidth to a long distance, on the other hand ADSL (Asymmetric Digital Subscriber line or Loop) or copper network has limits. normally a copper network in current scenario can support 16mb upto a 3KM distance in most cases but still need some amplified devices to install at exchange sides due to DB (DECIBEL LOSES). however in Fiber medium, the same bandwidth can be achieved even at 25km distance.
In Fiber Network information travels in light emitted from exchange side and this medium have huge capacity to cater this light to a long distance with less DB loses. the information travels in packets in Fiber Network which allow to transmit hundred of different information in no time and can be separated through sampling devices. like on a single fiber, 1000's of subscribers can get services like TV, Phone, Internet, Games etc. simultaneously without any trouble with better quality. Fiber has no limits to transfer any bandwidth.
Im still on Dial Up and using IE5.
Uploading videos is quite tedious.
Speed is terrible bro
but I just curious ..those full time IM out there ,
which connection they use?
I saw some ..geee have few PCs ...surely need some bandwidth
My concern does getting high speed fibre home network aid you on IM?
I doubt so right???
Unless you more on videos or giving training via Skype yet want to open many applications using the networks behind perhaps..
usb/data card/3g portability ftw
I've got cable with a crappy company called Charter. It goes out several times a month.

I'm on Dial Up, bro.
dial up connection
In the UK it depends where you live, as to the best connection you can get.
At home I'm on terrible 4mb ADSL, but at work it's fibre all the way on 20mb
Fiber Optic here with 50 Mbps.
Be creative trolls
Google fiber here... We have some crazy upstream and down...
120 meg fiber main, mobile 3g back up.
