I've heard many things about "too high of a CTR" for Adsense.
That's my weeks CTR and today has been 18%

I have colored my Ads the same color-palette as my site (it's obviously working) but supposedly Google goes full retard and bans people for this.
Since they're all legit (as far as I know) is Google cool with this?
Aren't I doing my job as a marketer? Why does Google hate high CTR when they're all legit clicks?

People get too paranoid with CTR IMO.

As long as they are legitimate clicks, and nothing shady or against their policy Is being done, there Is no problem.

I have had CTR's of 30% (sometimes more!) In the past, never worried about It, and never got banned.

It's my only MNS so it's no big deal if it goes, it's a Seasonal thing so perhaps that's the reason.
G-S-T did some linkbuilding on it so that could play a role haha.
I'm just happy that it's banking so Google is my friend right now! But we'll see when it's "time of the month" happens.

I don't think Google "hates" high ctr, in fact I think they like high ctr when the Intent behind the click is genuine. Think about this business model from google's perspective. If you are selling ad space to advertisers and they are paying you, don't you think they are going to expect some conversions from those clicks?

The same holds true for your adsense site. If you're deceptively getting people to click on your ads by changing colors, etc, and the people that accidentally click on the ad are not genuinely interested, they WILL BOUNCE and google will clearly see that. What does that mean? Bad user experience. Does google care about the user experience? I think you already know the answer, and thus you can answer your own question from here :)

Thank you SolidTactics, I recall hearing about Color Changing being deemed "deception" some time ago but it slipped my mind.
I obviously don't wish to hurt advertisers but the fact is, my site IS mega targeted so the likelihood of visitors bouncing is slim, wouldn't you agree?

Look at it this way if you had 90% ctr it doesn't it only means two things 1. Click attack/policy breaking clicks or ad setup or 2. You have really relevant information and it is setup very well and the clicks are working for you and the advertiser.

Your feedback is appreciated. I was mainly curious about Google having a problem with it, that's all. My CTR can be sky high and I wouldn't be bothered in the least haha.

I have seen people get banned from 2% CTR and I have seen people have 20% CTR and not have a problem, I think there are alot of factors that go into play
    such as quality of traffic
    age of adsense account
    age of website
is this a sudden burst of ctr ?
is this ctr average through out your account ?
    are the clicks converting ?

and in my experience if google doesnt like the traffic then the payable earnings will decrease if the quality is bad. So your best best is to ask yourself these things and judge if this is normal and hopefully by the end of the month your payable will be close to the estimated earnings.

I very well believe CTR is not really a problem. As long as people are clicking on your ads out of genuine interest and not because they were confused because they found nothing else on the page then you should be fine.

Also never put any incentives on your site to induce people to click. Making ads blend with your content is perfectly fine and it's even what google recommends.

Seriously I don't believe much of the "Google banned me for no reason google is a bit**" stories. They have every right to be strict because it can be dangerous there is so much money put into adwords by advertisers google has to guarantee the best.

As others have said. The only time you need to be worried about CTR is if you are trying to game adsense. If your clicks convert well for the advertiser you will be fine. Regardless.
