Each exchange has its own requirements. Some need you to pay a fee in order to list your token.

Depends on the exchange. But the reputation of the exchange is in play -> binance cannot put in is exchange a "bad" coin who can be dangerous for users but kucoin can (I think about $PYR when i said that)
When you are an exchange you have to think about your reputation. Have a lot of meme coin isn't good for it.

But for exemple (it's not an exchange put an exemple) coinmarketcap you just have to pay to be listed on it.

Some of the exchanges want you to pay fees to get listed. On the hand, some will list the coin when it starts getting popular.
