I'm learning a lot on SEO and it's going great.. yay, but I stumbled upon a problem:
Is creating web 2.0's let's say a couple Wordpress sites around my niche and then posting links to my main site against Googles terms or is this exactly what creating a PBN is useful for?

Oh and happy thanksgiving, eat dat turkey and share some :)

Google does not want you to do any type of link building. What you have to do with these web 2.0 or other PBNs is to make them look as if someone else has given you a link naturally. So, obviously if all your web 2.0s have only 1 article that link to your site, then it looks kind of spammy.

Also, you should not use wordpress only for all of them. Here's a good list that you can use: http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...45156-get-ultimate-page-rank-sorted-list.html

Of course it's against their TOS!
    But who cares?
just make sure there is no footprint.
And keep them high quality and update them, and it will work well.

So if I got it all right then commenting on these is good, but if Im going to create them myself for content links to my main site then its better to use a PBN?

Well it is suspicious for sure especially if you're going to create a one pager mini-site at WordPress and link them all to your website. It is definitely going to leave footprints.

Technically its against the rules, but then so is most SEO activities. Manually created web 2.0's are pretty much considered white hat links as long as they are high quality so go ahead and create one.

In simple words,Google never wants SPAM as there are many penalties so the best way is while creating web 2.0,just add 2 3 gov and high PR websites also with your post, that would be pretty beneficial.
    All the best!!
