creating tumblr accounts and posting link to your site?

If im understanding backlinks correctly, what if i create hundreds of tumblr accounts and post a link to my site. would that help me get backlinks or no?

Yes it would, but they wouldn't have much page rank and value though unless you built them up. There are a few good fiverr gigs that do this essentially, and they are from higher PR blogs.

Very right indeed.
High quality PR backlinks that are not many count more instead of lots of low quality backlinks. So why waste time and money in low quality ones?

You also get random IPs everytime you create a Tumblr blog. If you create hundreds, chances are, you'd be getting links with low quality posts from duplicate IPs.
