It's going to consist of fresh content that we write in house. We really want it to be fun and useful for our readers. Would you recommend wordpress or blogger? I heard Blogger is great for seo with recent changes and I also heard wordpress allows more creativity.

Personally i would reccomend wordpress but thats just my opinion. Everyone has there views on both cms's. I would say that you are right about what you said but i still think that if done correctly you can seo wordpress very well.

Definitely go with wp. You have full control on what is there. Blogger might simply ban you out of the blue.

I've used them both. I started with Blogger and migrated to Wordpress. I couldn't be happier. The range of tools allowing you to customize and optimize in WP is staggering.

Definitely Wordpress because you can customize it with allot of plugins/themes which Blogger doesn't has.

Without a doubt you should use wordpress on your on domain. That way you have full control of your blog. Using a blogger blog, google can come in and see something they don't like and should u down.

WordPress hands down. Much more control of the platform in terms of structuring and customization.

Wordpress is surely the right choice for creating blog website. Blogger is outdated and cant handle large amount pages. Wordpress offers different varieties and you can always update your website with lil changes. It is best for creating blog site as you can finds various plugging which will help you to improve your website and make it more exciting by changing themes.

I have some questions on this topic; rather than opening a new thread..

So if I use Blogger, other than the part about Google randomly coming in and banning your blog (which I plan to be 100% whitehat, so that shouldnt happen, right??) - is most of the SEO done for blogger in the sense that it index's automatically in google?? I've been top 5 before with afew of my blogger blogs without any backlinking on smaller niches, so im happy with it, and its user interface is good for me / I customize all I need to.

Is it a good idea (since im cheap/just starting out) to start with blogger for the first 2 months, then when I see if Im actually getting enough traffic for the site to be worthwhile, moving to wordpress later on if I need to? Or would that stunt the growth too much? (using my own domain, obviously) ????

    I have 2 stories for you. :)

I had 2 whitehat blogs for a popular site, one on Blogger, the other on wordpress. Neither of them had any backlinks, both of them had identical content. Wordpress was ranking above Blogger constantly!

Second story. One day I made a mistake, entered 2007 as a birth date while joining Google+. Poof - Blogger gone together with analytics, webmaster tools, adwords account and everything else.

Stick to wordpress mate, Google is not your friend. :)
