I have never done affiliate marketing before therefore I do not know how it works. I have gotten tired of selling others products because basically I thought I could make a better one and I finally did. Now, I need people to help sell it for me.

My question - Where do I find affiliates and where to do the whole affiliate processes? It is a physical product if that makes a different. I know of click bank but do they allow physical products and are there any restrictions? Also, I wonder if you have to prove that your product is worthy before affiliates will want to sell it?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

You can try selling it on ebay or amazon.

Personally, I would create a digital product, or 10, and have the physical product as an upsell. Then you can use things like Clickbank to sell the digital end. Also set up an area on your site to manage an affiliate program for the physical product. Overall this will help promote your affiliate program to people who haven't used your product and provide multiple lead streams.

If you are purely looking for affiliates, then Clickbank is your answer. However, be aware that there is a cost, they do take a commission, they have to approve your product, and you have to offer 60-day moneyback guarantee. With so much fraud on the internet, someone can easily buy your product, distribute it, and then get a refund.

So your CC processing, shipping and CS are all set up? That's your first step unless doing dropshipping. Next step is to decide to work with a network and have them pay affiliates or run it yourself, or hire someone to run it. Networks really won't recruit for you, but they will list your program.

You're right though in that recruiting good affiliates that can sell will be the hardest part. You'll be competing against everyone else in the same space for the same affiliates. Being a new guy, you might have to pay more and pay an upfront fee to get someone to run your offer that is already in the space and making sales.

Clickbank do allow physical products yes. And to get quality affiliates is pretty difficult unless your shit converts. As an affiliate why would I send traffic to your offer that doesn't make me any money when I could send my traffic to Bob's offer and make 10k?

Just make your offer convert, with low refunds and a decent payout and you'll attract a lot of affiliates.

Dan, my employer made a magento site and apparently they have an add on for affiliate tracking, he has tested it now for a week and it has worked like a champ..Not sure how your site is setup but if you are using magento it might be worth looking into! Aside from buying the add on you then dont have to worry about sharing your sales with anyone, this allows you to give them a higher commission or even pocket the extra $$$$

    Hi,

I have huge experience in this field although it is more weighted towards setting up corporate affiliate schemes with partners like Affiliate Window.

In terms of finding affiliates this is where relationships come into play - as you build your brand out you will start to get in touch with more and more people. For example with my blog I speak to quite a few of the heavy hitters in SEO/IM and I'm sure at any point I could approach them to push my product if and when I create one.

Another approach is to find similar products in the market and then hunt out the affiliates that are currently promoting them and make them aware of your product and why it will make them more money (big affiliates only care about numbers).

Depending on your budget a highly successful approach is to just invite all of the top affiliates in your niche for an all expenses paid night out, we did this on a number of occasions in the UK to steal some of the biggest affiliates away from the competition and even got a few working with us exclusively.

    It's all in the relationship

I want to do the same that you: Create my own product.
So, in first, i have created an ebook. (Find a niche, don't take "Make money online" but find something original, if not, you will be not accepted in ClickBank, so, let's choice: MoneyDuringHolidays or idk, something like that) :)
After, create a website, Product review+Affiliate page+Thank you page and blabalbalabla.
    Test it.
    Submit ClickBank.
If it's work, spread on forum for finding affiliate (Like BHW).
Or, spread your own and take 100% commission.
(I'll beginning with more than 700$, i think it's optimal)
Aha, here's my plan for my new and first product! (I'm neewbie)
    Hope you'll sucess! ;)

The product is extremely extremely technical. I found a guy who is very knowledgeable in the industry who had no marketing skills what so ever and I pretty much gave him an offer he couldnt refuse :)

This is actually a good idea tho. I remember reading some wholesale forums where people are looking for products that convert :) Thanks!
