I'm promoting one of my websites on several niche related forums. Most of these forums allow the users to create blogs (just like BHW does).

Is it a good idea to create these blogs, and then blast some big 3-4 tiered link pyramids. The forums I use only have high PR, so I guess they won't be harmed.

Is this a generally good idea? I see many people promoting their websites in these blogs, but what about linking to the blog? Will that give more juice to the link?

If it's a do follow backlink then you will get link juice.

I agree with Kralj187. It is important that the link is do-follow but even it is no-follow, if you have time it is good to go with.

So you're creating a third tier of links for your own site? Or are you sending a link pyramid to the forum blog...seems like unnecessary work because if the forum is large your blog will get picked up quickly and you'll get more benefit from the natural site visitors than the link juice.
