So I'm trying to create a link wheel/pyramid to promote my company's website however since it's not a quick buck niche site but the site to a small business I really want to go completely white hat to avoid any risk of being sandboxed.

I've looked around online and building a link wheel or pyramid seems like a good way to go but I'm getting conflicting reports as to how often I need to update the sites that I create for my backlinks.

For example, I have wordpress, blogger, xanga etc. sites but at the moment they all have 1 post each on them. Do I need to make sure all of these sites are continuously updated or is it fine to keep one post on each? Also, if I do decided to post more than once do I need to link the target site on each and every post?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Not really such a thing as a WH link wheel or pyramid. It's all black. So if you want completely white, Don't do this.
