If I only have one site that I'm trying to build links for, is it even worth it to start my own PBN?

Or would I get a much better ROI from using guest posting as my primary link building strategy

    for authoritative links?

Has anyone here created a PBN as a means to rank 1 site, and 1 site only?

Yes, if you're looking to build an authority site especially in a competitive niche for a high paying keyword, then by all means put your time and effort into creating a PBN! High PR home page links are extremely effective so building a PBN even for just one site is worth the investment.

    Yes. I have.

If the cost of PBN is less than the expected increase in revenue generated by your money site, then it definitely is a good idea. The control that a PBN give you is worth all the effort spent in setting it up.

Another benefit is that once you have a PBN up, if you launch another moneysite (in a similar niche), you can drive new links to your new moneysite using your old PBN.

You might get a better ROI short term with guest posting and services, but a blog network gives you more control. It's worth it if you can afford it.

It's worth it but I think its a massive task and expensive, so I guess the niche your site is in has to be competitive enough (and lucrative enough) to warrant it.

My niche is moderately competitive so I a pbn on the smaller side would be enough I'm sure. The cost of hosting doesn't scare me, but rather the cost for each domain if I'm buying them auctioned.

Which leads me to ask... can a network of newly registered .com's (along with some other extensions) even be nearly as effective and powerful compared to one in which is powered by high authority and expensive domains?

If not, then the only other option I see fit at the moment would be to search far and wide, among shores never seen before, in search of the authoritative and free expired domains that exist somewhere in time and space...

If you have some useful tips, I will have some useful links... soon. An eye for an eye cap'n.

    Thanks

Very good question and certainly one that i would like answered myself so subscribed.

I, like you have a big network of new sites (less than 2 year old), some churn and BURNT but apparently still hold value.

To create what we have into a PBN or register high pr domains is the question!!!

There is nothing wrong with building a PBN for one money site. Actually it can become very highly niche related and targeted network of links which means the links will be high quality.

The concerns will be that you have the monetary capacity to build and ROI of it. Make sure your money keyword will be good enough to cover the investment you made.

Should work perfectly but is a long term investment. The first true effects you may see in like 6 months because it takes time to influence the money site with your blog network. But if you do have this time and, of course, the money for investing in go for it is one of the best SEO solution

You can, if your site is large enough. Forget micro niche sites. To get the best ROI, make multiple sites on different hostings with different affiliate accounts\monetization methods and link to them from your network.
