I have a lot of experience working for a rather large recruitment company running several jobsites.

I am thinking about starting one myself. Hence, I would very much like to come up with something which will attract visitors, i.e. make it stand out in some way in terms of simplicity, functions or whatever.

I have some ideas myself but it would be nice to see if you guys can contribute with some valuable advice. I am sure many of you have been looking for job ads online :)

Find a niche in the job world and then start building niche job sites and then unite them through a brand which will be your job site portal to your niche job sites :)

    There is an idea!

Job sites are big businesses run by organizations not by individuals, you can have a consultancy website, post jobs and run a staffing business.

I bought a Job website script a while back to use on a domain of mine, it has neat features, like fb connect, video resumes, companies video profiles etc. I installed it on my dev server and it works great, and it's easy to customize, as the source is unencripted.

Then I decided to finally use it on a live website and found out the license was linked to a specific domain (ie. non transferable to another) :( and the bad thing was that I had already sold the other domain... * facepalm * $240.00 down the drain :(.

I believe you can't go wrong if you get a ready made solution and tweak it to your needs. After that it's all marketing and connecting (which I think you have already covered).
