Is it possible to help the main site rank higher if you link from several blogs within the niche? Wouldn`t that gimme lotsa niche links?

Yes, I know of differnet IPs, c-class and all that crap. But if I visit a friend and set up a Blogger site, then I go home and set up a Wordpress blog, and then I visit another friend and set up a Blog.com site.

Possible? Am I missing something? I can still do postings on all of them from the same IP, right?

Yep do that it will be good for you. Try and make sure the blogs have more than one post on them though.

Ok, good. I will then get a link from a site in the niche and that`s worth a lot more than a regular link from another site.. But I`m wondering, and this may sound dumb, but how much link building should I do for those blogs? Just a couple, so I get indexed? Is it better to build a lot of sites instead of spending a lot of time building links to just a few?

Well you should do a fair bit, because ofc without their own backlinks the Blogs won't get good PR so the links (even though they are same niche) will be worth less than they could be worth.

Don't go mad on making tons and tons of backlinks for them, but do try and include them in your weekly backlink building rotation, because its just like building backlinks to your money site at the end of the day, it will all help your main site.

Do you have experience doing this?

Another impossible-to-answer question, but how many sites should I build? The more the better?

If I build the sites in several different locations when I travel around the country, does it matter if it`s blogger, wordpress or whatever? Probably looks bad with blogger only, right?

Do I have experience building backlinks for SEO by artifically mass creating blogs ? Yea man ;) its normally referred to as a linkwheel. Theres some good threads about it around this site.

You should mix it up yea not just use Blogger, there are tons of free blog hosts you can use, just make sure they have do follow links and bam away you go.

    Check out this recent thread:

    http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...long-term-experiment-foolproof-linkwheel.html

    And this older thread:

    http://www.blackhatworld.com/blackh...ch-engine-optimization-practices-newbies.html

Good advise in both if you are new to artifical backlink strats

When people say Inbound links should be from different C-class IP, they are referring to the IP of the host server and not the site owner. Your friends may have different IP, but that would not make any difference as all blogger & wordpress blogs are hosted on the same server more or less.

Instead, try to post comments on your niche blogs as that would take much less time and effort for equal link value.

Creating blogs is not a bad idea though, as they would bring some additional traffic and links to your site.

Also don' forget to AVOID creating all your spam blogs the same day !!!!

Also don't link back directly after creation to your money site

There is a few good guides you should check (available somewhere here):
    triangle linkwheel
    advancing the linkwheel
pyramid linkwheel (but a lot of hassle to setup)

Have a look also at the Affiliate Kill Zone (somewhere here also) there is some good tips to create your own blog networks aka link f@rms

    cheers

Talsin: Heard about link wheels, not sure if I wanna do that (the part that includs linking between the blogs). Read some bad stuff around the web about it, including someone being slapped around by big ol` G. Perhaps they did something wrong, but I`d rather build several good blogs that have no connection to each other.

beazt: Ah, that`s right. I mix things up sometimes..

But what would be the difference if I comment on a lot of Blogger sites, then, instead of creating the blogs myself? Can`t I just as well build the blogs myself, get a link that I KNOW is staying where I put it, and actually get a site that gets traffic and perhaps even conversions directly? There are NO blogs in my niche in my country where my link actually stays.. Trust me, I`ve checked.

gamecity: Haha naaah, not doing automated spam again. Messed my sites up pretty bad the last time.

    djprog: I know.

    I know.

I don`t think farms or wheels or pyramids or whatever you call it nowadays are something I wanna run with. To high a risk, if you ask me..

Thanks for all the answers, peeps. BHW ftw.

Yea I wouldnt connect them to each other either personally. Linkwheel is just a generic term for what your doing (because the blogs need backlinks of their own as well), call it a Linkstar, or a Linkpush or whatever ;)

Sounds good, gonna start building sites today. :)

Any idea how long I should wait before I set up the link to my main site?

A lot of questions here, but are there any blogs I should stay away from?

Build the blogs one by one over a period of time. Get them well-indexed by Google first. Then add your link to your money site one blog at a time, not on all 100s in one go. The key is to make it look natural. That's why the original link wheel failed. Too perfect a circle.
There are tons of free blogs out there, don't just stick to Wordpress and Blogger. So many sites trying to get you to blog on theirs.

Now, my question is: where do you place the link to your money site: in the sidebar under blogroll or in a post article?
A link in the sidebar appears site-wide but this is what many link-builders want, so it does not look very natural nowadays.
A link in a post is highly relevant and surrounded by keywords, in context, etc but appears only on 1 page.
Blogs creation for the purpose of getting relevant backlink from your niche sounds good but is it worth it? You need to set up the blog and create the content and wait for it to be indexed, wait again to link to your main site and build links to it too, in addition to building links to your main site. Wouldn't you be better off using this time to get more links to your main site instead?
Using software and automated methods to build these blogs won't give you the full benefit if the articles are just duplicates.

In addition, you should create links to these seperate web 2.0 properties.

Thing is, it`s REALLY hard, nearly impossible, to get links from relevant sites in my language. I just figured that relevant links are worth a lot more than links that are not relevant, so why not build the sites myself?
