I was wondering
if its good to create a sitemap of your backlinks and how can i build it
Yeah it would be a good idea and to see how much traffic each site is bringing you then you could decide to invest into advertising on that site. But to build one would be tricky.
i don't think we talk the same thing
Answer this question first: Why would you want a sitemap of your backlinks?
Is it to help search engines find your footprint and smack your sites?
I'm curious as to what you think the positives of undertaking this project would be.
Yes, this is a very under used and solid practice if you know what you are doing with it and why.
You create a sitemap of your backlinks for your site in two ways:
1. a standard html text link format, ( human friendly version ), which is for you to ' recommend ' other resources in your site, all leading to your affiliate links and building authority outbound links from your site, as long as they are associated/relevant to your target niche market.
Understand that this is for you to promote everything multiple times from your site through internal linking and using this sitemap as a central linking page. Think of it as a cross between a map/info center in a mall and a content recycler. You link your content into categorized areas for making it easier to recommend.
Here's an example, to eliminate the instant response of " why not just directly link to it? " some may have:
1. You promote an article/review on web 2.0 or blog site. The traffic read it and come back to your product page, link, full review, sales page, etc...within your site.
In that article, review, sales page...you can recommend they check out your human friendly sitemap for other sites, products, services and resources they may find helpful as well.
2. You have the search engine crawl your site and follow the xml version, which has ALL of your backlinks from your site, ( not limited to the relevant or affiliated sales links but, actually ALL of them ). This builds follow links that take the spiders offsite, linking you site as an authority/content/information/resource site = AUTHORITY goes up.
3. You have just sold a client someone, making your first sale. In your autoresponder thank you email, send them a link to " SAVE FOR FUTURE REFERENCE OF OTHER TOOLS AND RESOURCES THEY MAY NEED TO IMPROVE THEIR BUSINESS ". ( don't make that state in the actual link...please. )
Simply type the desited statement you want, in your own words and hyperlink ' resources ' as the link to click. It will do the job for you.
It is all in how you use it.
