I got a question for you guys, what i'm planning on doing is scraping CL emails and emailing them some CPA offers. Now, the CPA offer says that email is allowed for the offer, but i have a funny feeling that they will not like me scraping CL, and sending them spam. I was thinking of making a landing page with Brad's CPA-redirector so the referrer is now my legit landing page, even though they will be redirected to the offer page itself. I just wanted some advice and bounce around some thoughts before i went ahead and did this.

should i even bother with the landing page, and the faking referrer? or should i just put the email code of the creative in the email and be done with it?

create a landing page , most cpa networks don`t accept cl traffic.

If its an Email only offer, then this setup wouldn't work, as they want to see email referrers. You need to make sure it allows for display traffic, and then have the banners on that landing page you show as a referrer.

2nd, spread it around. Multiple networks. You can cover your tracks all you want, but if you scrape the advertisers email from craigslist (yes some of them are on there) and email them with your spam, you're sunk. 2nd, if someone takes a dislike to you emailing them, and takes the time to follow the link to find your affiliate id and forwards the email to the advertiser, you're suck again. These are 2 things you are unable to do much about when scraping/emailing.

The problems I have noticed with mailing @cl.org. I havent researched this much yet, might be popular and something that everyone has faced, but still,

1. You can't send more than about 20 mails from one single address. You need to keep on rotating the sender address while mailing cl.org. That means you will need multiple gmails, yahoo or whatever it takes. You can't use your own domain. CL is smart.

2. Atleast 50% of the posters there are people like us. So, even if you manage mail delivery properly, it is quite tough to reach out to atleast 30% of the mails that you sent out. Out of that, people will have to open the mails, find the offer interesting, click on the link and signup. I found a conversion of less than 1%, and the costs way to higher.

If things have imporved, please, enlighten me.

thanks guys.
hmmm...i suppose this is the nature of the beast....pissed off spammed people. any ideas on avoiding this or minimizing the risks?

like how about a throw away co.cc domain that after say a week or a few days after the mass email, take down, so the ref aff link from the site is gone completely. i suppose if they were pissed enough they could save the URL from the first click, but there'd be no proof there after if taken down in time.

i didn't know this. when you say you can't use your own domain, you mean an email like @youdomain.com?
