I noticed that when I use an autoresponder to answer people from craigslist the address being sent to is bounce-343@craigslist instead of the email address of the person responding to the ad. What are people using as a work around to this? Ads dont seem to be flagged if the link or offer is not in the ad so I would like to hit them with a response.

I suppose I could try harvesting the email addresses and then doing a small mass email every night but I would really prefer to get a response to them instantly while its fresh in their mind, this will also eliminate the spam factor.

I'm not sure I understand the question. Are you asking if CL scans all the email that is relayed through their server for known affiliate links? Forgive me if I'm off, didn't sleep last night so I'm a little off my rocker at the moment =)

All email is relayed through CL's servers. It's best to just plug your Aff. link in your auto response message, like you said, instead of posting it in the ad.

Your not off essential_clix, I can?t get the question myself, and my brain has been in all angles.

Sincerely Yours,
Markus

When I did craigslist posts on the personals, I set up The Bat email client to autorespond on opening and inject their first name into the reply email. I just checked it now and about six months ago all of the personal email addresses were in the "from" field.

Maybe there's been some changes to stop the autoresponse system, so that anything like affiliate links get flagged by craigslist before they forward to recipient?

No you got it.. I cant type for shit today. Too tired and too much coffee makes me a little spastic. When the emails go back out they are addressed to bounce-anon-mk-my email [email protected] so they arent making it back

This could be more of a gmail question I guess. The solution looks to be that I would need to grab the email thats in the from field and then create an autoresponse with that.

I have the EZ Autoresponder and when the emails come in they have their actual email address. And one thing you should do is not have your autoresponder send the email out immediately. Usually best to wait for a certain time of day and just send all the response out at one. If you set it up to autorespond automatically the ad will get deleted quickly.

I must be missing the issue. When I use CL for harvesting emails in categories, and setup a vacation response through gmail to send an aff link or Brring number, the persons actual email comes in in the from field.

Are you guys saying that if a vacation response or autoresponder goes right back to that address that it really goes back through CL's system and gets flagged?

I've noticed a lot of aff and Brring commissions so I know it works, but maybe a lot of the auto response emails are getting blocked?

Yep.. flagged and removed, that what I get for trying to help people find how to get a free xbox :)

I'm glad I read this now, I've only been using the auto method for the last few weeks. Before that I was just harvesting to send stuff to later. I guess it's time to go back to the old faithful method.

Figures, just when I had set to autopilot itself. :)
