Does "Number of Authentication Daemons" under the Mail Configuration option in WHM, what does that mean. If I set it to say 20 will that limit the maximum concurrent SMTP connections at 20?

Correct - that option defines the maximum number of authentication daemons you want to allow to run simultaneously.

Can we set it at 20 for certain IP's or domain names?

The reason I'm asking for is because I guess Yahoo's SMTP server only allows 20 concurrent connections at a time.

I don't believe so, I think it is a server wide setting used to balance your mail server's needs. i.e. - not enough daemons and the server is slowed down because a line forms to use to use the ones available, too many daemons and they slow your server down by hogging the system resources.

I havent installed cPanel/WHM on a server in a long while though. Maybe someone with more experience than me can chime in.
