    Hello.
I'm having a bit of trouble understanding cPanel.
Just when I think I have figured it out.....my website doesn't appear.
Is there a forum I could visit that would help me better understand cPanel?
    Thank you kindly.

    Wow...thanks for trying to help.......
So..this is where I'm at right now........

I have a simple picture that I want people to see when they type in my URL.
    I do the following steps:

    1. I sign into my cPanel and go to File Manager.
    2. I go directly to my public_html folder and select Web Root and hit Go.

(I'm suppose to make sure that the show hidden files box is checked, in case I need to make any changes to my .htaccess file...........EVEN THOUGH I HAVE NO IDEA WHERE MY .htaccess file is.) -:)

    3. Once I'm at the public_html directory, I created a folder called index.htm
(because I was told the server will look for these specific files first).

    4. I put my .jpg picture in the index.htm folder.

    Then, I type my URL and I see.........(wait for it)........absolutely nothing. -:)

Can you please tell me what I'm doing wrong?
    Thank you.

index.html is not a folder it's a file.. you can easily install Wordpress from cPanel, it's easier than writing all the html tags and so on..
