usually the end of the survey has an email submit or a 1-page submit that the user would have to fill out in order to get the survey results. maybe a few offers as well.
almost no one would be willing to just not know the results after filling out an entire survey, so there's quite a lot of leverage here.
if you wanted to be evil, you could even make your own survey, and then use a content gateway to lock the results with another survey
This stuff is pretty interesting. What tacoplypse said makes a lot of sense even though I never thought of it before. I've never filled out a survey offer because I know better but I think some of them ask you for your credit card for various BS reasons for example, to verify you are over 18 then charge them. The best way to find out how they make money is to fill some out.
