Ive been contemplating this today and it seems like it could deliver huge dollars.
You would ideally be offering something electronic - an ebook (that you have written or own the rights to), software that you created, a site membership, etc. Best thing is, it would be completely white hat as long as you are delivering on the offers. Of course you would need a site capable of taking payments, as well as handling a good amount of traffic if your offer gets popular among affiliates. And as long as your offer follows some untouched keywords, the affiliates should go nuts over it.

Am i missing something here? Seems nearly too easy to rake it in. Is it very difficult to get your offer picked up by a network? Anyone done this?

With all due respect, no shit.

But you're thinking too small. Screw keywords. They don't matter. Hint: media buys

no worries lol - i know im not the only one to have though about this.

but it seems like too little work the amount of possibly revenue. ill look into media buys. but im curious if there is a long screening process to get your offer accepted, and also what kind of legal difficulties you should expect when blackhat affiliates attack your offer.

    Home Page:
so... write an ebook and put it on clickbank... ?

not extremely easy tho, you'll have to put some effort into:
    1. making a good product
    2. making a good sales page
    3. getting lots of affiliates to promote it

    easier version:
write an ebook & sell it on DP

You reallllly need to look into this more before assuming its that simple.
First off - networks dont pick up your offer. You PAY them to add your offer to their network. Usually they require several thousand upfront to do that.
Next, your offer has to be on equal standing with others of the same ilk. If you notice, biz opps pay a ton per lead, so you'd have to have the money behind you to be able to offer that as well - or if you dont have a big payout, you need a good reason for the affiliates to push your offer over those higher paying ones.

By the sounds of it - the kind of product you are thinking of would be best suited to clickbank. Which in that case does not require an upfront payment/deposit. However there are THOUSANDS of products on there, so again - you need something different to appeal and give a reason to affiliates to pick your product out of the rest to push.

You don't just pay for them to take your offer... you need to prove to them how your offer has done thus far via either a super affiliate you partnered with, usually a mailer, or media buys or both. They'll want to know your EPC, traffic type used, etc, etc

But getting an offer on the networks is a lot less costly than most brick and mortar businesses... hell it takes at least $80,000 just to open a lower-end no bells and whistles subway restaurant. You can run a CPA offer from your home office...

you have a point, however they aren't going to promote your offer unless you have tested it and in doing so prove it will convert better than one they already have because they make money off every conversion as well... so if it converts better, they'll be promoting it to their super affiliates, trust me.

When I posted that, I was implying that you won't be succesful unless you prove to them it converts, as thats the only way they'll promote it to their SA's.
