Counts hotlinked images as backlinks?

    Hi guys,
    I have the following question: If I somebody links to an image on my site, would it than count as a backlink for me?

    I think it would but only if they did it like this <a href="yoursite.com"><img src="image.jpg"></a>..

    I dont see why it wouldnt count, but im quite new to all this, but im guessing it would..

    Yes, it counts as a link. I know from people hotling images off of one of my blogs. Wordpress picks it up as an incoming link. Google rob does too.

    an <img> as anchor worth nothing with google.
