Hey everyone I was wondering I had a site before that I did some really bad keyword research for using a bad tool now I have over 20 articles targeting keywords they shouldent be for example - "Shwin Mountain bike" which is super hard to rank for whereas they should be targeting "Shwin Montain Bike 2 speed Review" which is more specific and easier to rank for with no seo just the article itself.

So I guess my question is can I just go in, change the h1,2,3 tags, meta, description, alt tags, keyword in text and then wait for it to be indexed? Would there be any google slaps if they see the keywords of 20 articles all change within the same week? Would this be efficient?

    Any help greatly appreciated!

Vlad, you've got it spot on. Go through the articles, amend the keywords, titles and descriptions to suit. Depending how closely related some of the content is, it may be worth putting a long article together targeting a few of the keywords, then 301 redirecting the other pages to it.
Then shoot some new links to the pages, mixing branded, naked url, a few exact match and a couple broad match anchors letting the big g know that you've made changes, are relevant and should be ranked.
Just make sure the content delivers value, rather than affiliate dribble, to the user!

I don't know if I would bother with all the 301 malarkey. But yes it's good practice to refresh your content. If it just so happens you are refocusing your on page seo all well and good. Once it gets crawled it should result in improvements.

You won't be penalised or anything if that's what you are worried about.

Yes, go ahead and change it. Nothing would happen, just that if you have already done some link building on your old keywords then they would not help you much in rankings for the new keyword. Alternatively, it would also make some good anchor text diversification with backlinks.
