This is probably a bit of a silly question to ask but it's bugging me as I've got one other site with a similar problem and both sites seem to be ranking quite low in the serps, though then again this could be due to other factors.

Anyway, what bothers me is the header of my website. When visiting my website it looks perfectly normal, but when visiting my website via Google's cached link, it messes up.

Let the screenshot do the talking:

Could this affect my rankings in any way?

I doubt it. Look at a bunch of other sites to compare.

I did, and only my one looks messed up but this is probably due to the CSS which I don't want to play about with as it is a free WP theme.

If you have made changes to your site within the last few month, then could it be that G. haven't updated it 100%.

If you are using GA, then have they recently made a new tab, where you can see how G. look at your page. A bit similar to the cashed version, but I do see a difference sometimes.

You can also try to dele the cashed version in GA and then wait and see how G. update your site.

    Shade, I believe so.

Maybe you have some code the spider isn´t able to read properly, thus scrambling the whole index of your site. IMO it is possible that your seo efforts are being cut short at that point.

What you can do is experiment with that same design in a throwaway domain a bit(yknow, change everything you think might be causing this), and force its crawling to check what the cache will look like.

Else hire a designer to look further into that and tidy up the code for ya.

    best of luck!

Yeah, I guess I will have to try and experiment. Thanks for the input.
