Could I use a UPS Store box to receive cash by mail anonymously?

Hello. I'm thinking about starting a business that accepts cash through the mail and I've been wondering if I could open a box at the UPS Store and use that to accept cash by mail. I heard UPS doesn't allow you to send cash through them, but what about receiving it? Thanks for any advice you can give.

Who in their right mind sends actual cash through the mail?

Not a good business model as most are going to think like me in that respect.

A UPS store is a CMRA. You have to provide full identification to open a box. So no anonymous. Thirty years ago there was very little problem sending cash thru the mail. Not so anymore. Plus it creates an immediate suspicion in your buyer's mind. Most people don't carry cash anymore. So they'd have to find some. Another obstacle. But you could easily test it. Just have it mailed to your current address. If you reach a significant volume however you might draw the attention of the postal inspectors or homeland security

Even with providing identification, you aren't allowed to use a pseudoname to also receive mail under unless you first file a DBA with the state you are doing business in. Mail recieved under any other name on the box, is usually sent back.

We live in a world where SOME people think differently than the masses.

I know people who REFUSE to use a password manager; it would make their life much easier, but they insist on writing down their passwords or memorizing them. It makes no sense.

As to the issue of sending cash in the mail, people STILL do it!

The UPS still accepts C.O.D. of up to $50k, and the drivers will collect the cash.

Should you accept cash as part of a business model? In today's get rich quick or die trying mentality, absolutely not!!!

In today's culture, especially in America, if you start accepting cash, you will summons brazen thieves out of nowhere.

umm, if you think ups doesnt allow sending cash. then how do you receive cash through ups? you have to send the cash through ups in order too receieve cash through ups. so that wouldnt work at all. Logical thinking here!

Op yes you can easily create what you need and receive cash in the mail.
Plenty of reasons customers would send cash in the mail.

OP and everyone else, you need an ID and a utility Bill to open a mailbox.
So get an ID and a utility Bill and voila you’re set.
Cash In mail is a target for postal workers to steal so best to not use an envelope but package it in a box and hide the contents in something.
