I am using a domain with a brand name, so could I get in trouble for this? Example: AwesomeFacebook.org, coolpinterest.com, funEbay.net, etc.

You can get into serious legal trouble over this. That does not mean it can't be done without
legal complications, but be prepared for the domain to be stripped from you by ICANN.

Keep it and wait to see what happens

If there is any problem contact your registrar

I have some domains like facebookxxxxxxxxx.biz, I never had any problem

never buy domains like that - too much trouble :) . You can sometimes stay away from trouble by changing 1-2 letters in the brand name but you get notice for pulling down your site after some time anyway.

    Not worth it.

As bartosimpsonio recommended, try to churn and burn it. And after that let it expire..

And what are your plans on that domains?

You run into trouble when you try to make money out of brand name, for example if you use the above domain to write only about kittens then you will have no problems, if you start making money because of the brand name then you will be in trouble

Registered trademark are always protected by law.
When the owners will notice this "theft" and denounce you are not good things.

I want to joke but it is serious, the short answer is, if you get popular or make money then yes. If nobody ever hears of you and your site never catches on, then no.

If you want to monetize the domain in any way and the trademark owner of the brand understands it, they may even ask for a share of the earnings, if they do not ask you to close the site.
