    Hello,

So I wanted to create a movie streaming site. On one hand, I want to put real movies so users gets what they want, but I decided not to since it would be illegal, reading many stories, some even go to jail for not hosting the movie, but just linking to it, obviously his site was big, that's why.

Now, my site might be big aswell. Here is my question.

If I have a fake movie site where I only show the intro and never show any movies and also not linking anywhere, but my site gets lets say 100k visitors per day and I make tons of money. Is there any chance I would get caught? It surely will not get 100k visitors a day, but I want the answer in case it does.

    Thanks

why not just do a movie trailer site and embedd straight from Youtube, totally legal. You can add your own review under the video and monetize with adsense, amazon, ebay etc.

go with offshore hosting ignores copyrights. What country are you in?

It might be hard to get a PPI affiliate to pay out on that kind of site. A lot have terms stating that you can not use illegal or copyright material to entice people to sign up or fill out forms.

Anytime you deal with a shady business, you always have to deal with the fact that at anytime, they could pull the plug on you and you could lose any moneys you had in your accounts. It may never happen, but there is a chance and that always sucks trying to put all your hard work into something knowing it could be gone when you wake up with no control over it.

    Good Luck to you.

OP it has been done to death are you sure there is still money in it?
Generally people know they can torrent movies or go to streaming sites, are there still clowns filling in offers?

You could set up your traffic site legitimately by embedding trailers as blogzandstuff outlined. But then below have a link to the actual movie - hosted on another site that you have the user complete an offer to get access to.

I don't see it happening, unless the user doesn't know that they can just google and find the movie streaming for free, I don't even know how effective a trailer site would be. I would suspect that once someone figures out all you have are trailers, they aren't coming back.

Everyone seems to be embedding the movies from where it's actually being hosted and put up a DMCA disclaimer. Seems risky, however there are many sites doing it and they don't seem to be getting shutdown.
