    Pretty much what the titles says. Do you think it is a bad idea to include links in the signature that are directly connected to the brand website? Should one do it differently or you don't think this would damage the ranks?

    Thanks so much for your time and help!

    I say No, you will not loose any rankings for the forum signature, but don't give keyword link in forum, use any long tail keyword for link. Build your profile in the forum and start using the forum regularly, so the authority will increase and your forum signature will be counted as value. If you just trying to build back link with forum signature then you will loose rankings, you need to increase your profile authority first

    If you are a real forum participant, you can put your website in the signature. Don't spam a forum and don't use keyword as anchor, and I think you should be fine

    If you can, better avoid that.

    If it looks spammy then it will else if it looks natural you'll be fine and safe.

    I feel it depends on which forums it is and how good the posts are that user makes.

    How many forum links are you talking about? Does the domain only have forum links?

    If you want a vanilla packaged answer;

    Yes = If you're so lazy, that is your only strategy
    Yes = If forum links out weigh good links
    Yes = If it's a profile with no activity
    No = If you post from niche relevant forums in moderation

    That's what I've discovered anyway.

    I think the key is not to do black hat with sig links. Google will know you are trying to game them. Post useful things and help people and Google will see people clicking on your sig link and visiting your site with genuine intentions.
