I have various article writers and they add sometimes pictures to their articles.

Most of the time they are stealing the pictures from various websites.

I´m living in south america, Hoster is Hostgator.

What is the worst thing that can happen and how likely is that?

Of course we rename the pictures always!

    Thanks!

Hostgator is very quick to disable your account on copyright complaints, without waring ive also heard. I doubt the copyright holders will bitch but its possible. Probably best to get offshore hosting if u plan on making the site big. (recommend underhost)

try to purchase pictures rather than stole picture from other website. It may cause you copyright and it will make you to trouble. Make your website in clean position if not it will affect your SEO as well. Or you may get others web hosting which would not caught you for copyright.

My advice would be to tell your writers to use the advanced search on Google images. Go down to usage rights and choose from the drop down menu which one you think suits. Labeled for reuse would probably be your best bet.

There are plenty of places on Google to obtain pics that do not have copyright. Just do a search and you should find plenty.

I can't imagine you'd have to worry too much about getting into trouble with images, though if you're especially worried you can try iStock Photos for paid images. If you need free ones, punch in "stockxchng" into Google, and it should be the first result you find.
