how can i alter an audio file so it only works with headphones,
when the user plays using speakers the audio should sound bad.

there are various music in YouTube audio library which you can use in your video.

i have no idea how this user did it, but when i have my headphones unplugged the audio sounds off, but when i plug in headphones it works fine ?????

For audio, you can also easily avoid this by grabbing tracks at teknoaxe for free.

You might have an equalizer activated or either your headphones or your speakers have an inbuilt equalizer.
Actually, good headphones and good speakers should sound almost the same.
Have you ever experienced this before? (outside youtube?)

Try this.... Click the little speaker icon on the lower left of your screen

Next, click the "mixer" link

You might find your anomaly right there.
