    Hi all,

I've had a copyright strike on a music track that I've uploaded. I don't own the copyright, so it's my bad .. but I think the claimant might be fake & is just targeting my channel.

I had a similar fake claim made against my channel last month, some guy made up a false ID / Email, claimed to be a big-shot record producer & I got a copyright strike.. in the end, I filed a counter claim & got the strike removed, but now it's happened again.

The info that YouTube has given me is this:

    Claimant: Cyber Servers
Claimant Email: (Oops, just realized I can't type the email link, but it's): DMCA (fat) Cyberserversonline (dom) .. kind of :>

It all sounds legit & scary, but `Cyber Servers & Cyberserversonline' don't seem to have a footprint on the web, apart from the usual domain registering info sites. I would have thought that if they did handle copyright matters for a record company there would be some mention of them, but there's no trace .. which makes me suspicious.

I would like to file a counter claim, but first I need to be certain that it really is a scam.

Any advice on how I can do a check on Cyber Servers & Cyberserversonline to see if they're legit or not?

    Thanks for any help.

    Fuzzy.

Yup, when you make a counter claim you don't have to prove that you own the copyright, you just dispute the claim & have to submit your personal details .. which is then sent to the claimant.

The claimant then has 10 to 12 business days in which to respond (& sue) if not, the strike is lifted.

I wish the claimant had to first prove that they own the copyright, because at the moment, anyone can make up a false ID / email & file a claim against your channel.

Nah, my account got terminated. I wanted to file a counter claim but (I think) they might be legit, so I couldn't risk it.

I still find it a bit strange that Cyber Servers don't have a web footprint, no website or mention of them, apart from the usual domain registration sites .. but I noticed they did issue a DMCA take down on a couple of file sharing sites outside of YouTube, so I guess they're legit.

    Which is really annoying :(

Yeah, that would certainly make the job & money making a lot easier.

The thing that annoys me is that none of the videos (that got the copyright strikes) came up as third party matched content when I uploaded them. I always delete any third party matches straight away, but these came up clean .. until the strikes.

I haven't a clue what caused the 3rd & final copyright strike. I just got the standard "Your channel has been terminated" message & it said "We have sent you an email explaining the reasons" but I haven't received anything. The 3rd strike could be false, but I've no idea because I can't access my channel & YouTube haven't sent me any emails.

The obvious thing to do would be to request a retraction from the claimant (as I've got nothing to lose) but I haven't a clue who the claimant is because I can't access any information.

My channel termination hasn't affected my adsense account or the other two channels that are connect to it, thankfully.

well see , that's what i'm worried about , because i read somewhere (i don't remember if it was an official source), that if you get 3 strikes and your youtube account is terminated you don't have access no more to youtube partnership or to an adsense account.and this is scary to me , i can care less about a channel being closed ,but to not have access to this platforms no more , that's really messed up on different levels.but if you say it only affected just that channell , this is good.did you had some channells being terminated in the past?

No, it's the first time it's happened.

Just to put your mind at rest, I've read on here (at least, I think it was on here?) of people that have had 5 channels terminated & they've still managed to keep their adsense account .. but if you do a google search on the subject, you'll hear different stories from different people, so basically .. don't take my word for it.
