I am thinking about making a website dedicated to drummers where they can post there videos. Does anyone know what I would do to make a tube site so to speak? I have Dreamweaver if that helps.
you're going to need a LOT more than dream weaver to run a site like that. You should look into Joomla or Wordpress because you're going to have member based sites. Also, knowledge of coding such as Javascript or PHP is going to help a lot...if not, you can always outsource a lot of it.
You got a lot to learn and do, but make sure you learn and take action.
There are several awesome Tube themes for Wordpress. Search for them here on the forum, or take to Google. Softwarp has a decent Tube plugin that will pull videos for a while while you're building the site, so that would be a great tool to have.
use a wordpress tube themed site and host all the videos on YouTube, because otherwise hosting costs will be too much as with setup, so therefore you're website becomes more of a community, rather than a video posting site. If it takes off and you bank, host videos yourself. But it's not needed.
i started using joomla last week, and highly recommend it, even more than wordpress. it's not that difficult to learn. if you have a few days to get the hang of it, you should try it out. it might not even take you that long!
