I just wanted to find out, does it make any difference to your general topic (gaming) site if you add your link to a network containing mostly contextual adult and gambling links? i.e is it better to have the links on general niche networks or ok to have links containing adult contextual keywords?

    Thanks.

Why would you want to be on an adult/gambling network? While relevancy isn't an issue for linkjuice, I'm not sure why you'd want to be apart of a network like that? The chances of the network losing its PR is highly probable.

There's a ton of other networks out there that don't include that kinda thing that would work for you. I'd recommend those networks only if you have a gambling or adult site, which is what they are designed for.

i guess to clarify, while the sites in the network is mostly not adult related, the articles and contextual links are mostly adult related. So i guess that means its an adult network? And therefore there is a possibility of negative effect on my rankings?

Also please recommend me a non gambling network?

Can anyone else clarify this since superlinks obviously offers his own service so would like an unbiased view of having your links palced on sites that also have adult related contextual keywords?

    My thoughts on it:

I don't see anything specifically wrong with it -- nothing more wrong than linking to a dog nutrition website from a forex investment site. The niche is unrelated, as such the links won't count as much, but I don't think there's any extra penalty involved over one of the sites being adult related.

It depends on the quality of the adult site whether the links would be very beneficial. If they're freely linking to other unrelated websites, to me it sounds like they don't care much about their quality -- if they are selling links to lots of unrelated niches they could be flagged as link sellers.

I don't think the linked-to golf website has anything to worry about, there will be benefit, or no benefit, but I don't see any penalties that would be related to adult (you might get a Google dance that would be associated with any kind of backlinking but I don't think you'll be penalized).

Adult in-and-of-itself does not make a "bad neighborhood". Link farms are bad neighborhoods, any site containing link exchange scripts etc. But being specifically adult doesn't make it any more penalty than any other unrelated niche.

(PS, if they're flagged as link sellers by linking links to many unrelated websites, Google could very well lower their PR as a method of curbing their ability to sell links just like Superlinks has said, happens all the time). You're probably best off to assume someone with 156 rep is out to help people more than give answers devised in a way that may get you to buy services hehe.

Each site is hosted on a separate c class ip and also they are not interlinked but sell links on high pr homepage contextual articles (same as superlinks is offering in his service). So not a link farm as such but more. Thanks for answering my question so i guess it is ok to keep the links on the network!

If you look at the shit list threads and there are much much bigger Rep members on there so can't be too careful nowadays LOL!! However, i am not suggesting he has an alterior motive...just a possible conflict of interest ;)
