I am looking for advice as a content writer and thought I would share some of my experiences along the way.

I don’t want to bore the shit out of you. So here is a quick recap on my initial findings using freelance sites and trying to hustle work.

Freelancer.com Is dirt, what more can I say. Zero protection to freelancers. Supported by a payment and commission structure designed to rip you of. I used this site for 4 weeks had nothing but problems. I still have money owed and trapped in their system. I will write a separate thread on these [email protected].

Upwork I just don’t like it. I have managed to get one contract in my first 2 weeks. But had to grab my ankles for the gig.

BHW Forum I am chasing Jnr VIP what else can I say. I have been lucky to work with 2 forum members. The first professionals I have worked with. Quality production briefs and fast payment.

That is all I have. My work gets 5 stars and nearly all clients have been back for more. The only copy I was not happy with I offered for free.

I previously worked in sales as a director and trainer. I know how to sell shit and write sales copy. I equality know how to look after a client. I research all of my work and look for originality in the ocean of crap. If any BHW members can point me in the direction of places to go hustling for work please let me know.

BHW and Upwork are the best imo
Just when you reply to a gig, either on here or on upwork, actually show the person that you read their gig description and you're golden.
You don't even have to be that detailed in your cover letter.
I usually have a secret message at the ends of my job listings on upwork with somethings on the lines of "tell me your favorite food if you read this far" just to weed out the copy/pasters, and I know many others do this as well so be sure to be on the look out for things like this because they could make or break your cover letter.
Just out of curiosity, what is your rate per 500 words?

I don't think this is allowed in HAF section. You need to move your thread to either Blackhat Lounge or content writing section.
Also, Upwork is a really good platform for a writer if you know what you are doing. Even though a lot of people are looking for crap and crap prices, is full of cunts. I make a decent living with Up work and Hubspot, So HubSpot would be a way to go if you are as amazing as you say.
Your post did sound like a sales pitch too, not a very good one I am afraid.

    Home Page:
Fiverr is a great place if you want to sell your content writing services.
And of course BHW is great as well, but as you know, you have to meet some requirements first.

With both of these avenues you can get tonnes of customers but you have to make sure your content quality and your customer service is up to scratch.

Also my advice before you get a thread on BHW is a) save up some money to invest in sales page design AND advertising to kick start your thread and b) make sure you have a great system in place and enough time to handle all the orders!!
