What's your content strategy on your website and does it have an impact on traffic?
I've noticed that a lot of big players in my sub-niche have gone QUESTION-BASED AUTHORITY site
This is a slight modification of the old SILO system of authority site content
I can see why this trend is accelerating. Quora and question-based Twitter posts are getting more popular.
Also, sharing niche content on FB groups and pages tend to LOOK less spammy when posted using questions
I just put together my own content strategy for my old-ish project since it's my business and I need to take it to the next level:
3 blog posts per week (Monday, Wednesday, Friday)
2 videos per week on YouTube channel (Tuesday, Thursday)
Podcasts on Wednesdays
1 content pillar/massive post/page per 2 weeks (or 2 a month)
3 blog posts per week will take care of long tail keywords
2 videos will not be very search optimised but to build authority
Podcasts will be used to build authority
Content pillar posts will be used to tackle the big keywords (xxx, xxx searches/month)
All the posts, videos, media, etc ... will link to the email capture sueeze page where the visitor will be able to read free report in exchange (usual opt-in shit).
Of course I plan on resting on weekends because I don't want to burn out.
It is not right to compare with Quora by just posting question based blogs. Quora has got a lot of authority which is tough to beat.
My content strategy: to have lots of it! Like 300-400-500 articles, covering a subject like a boss.
What do you mean by "does it have an impact on traffic"? Like does it bring traffic? Does it keep traffic? Does it convert my traffic?
If your content isn't doing everything you need, your content sucks.
Now you can have well written, keyword loaded content, ranking good, but it doesn't convert. Hence, your content sucks.
You can have a perfectly optimized sales pitch, designed to convert like a boss, but it doesn't rank.
does it bring traffic?
Content is part of how I get traffic, yes.
