Content of expired domain

Can the content of expired domain be used without fearing duplicate penalties?

As long as the content has been deindexed and doesn't show up on any other websites, I don't see a problem with it.

Also, there's no duplicate content penalty.

If you cannot find said content by searching for it in Google or if it returns no results from http://copyscape.com then you should be alright.

As @Zwielicht and @PHPInjected both said, if it's no longer in the G index then you should be good to go.

I think Google keeps a history of previous content. I've tried this method with no success...but maybe I was doing something wrong. Would be nice to test again now after several years.

I used copyscape and it said:
Error: connection failed (0) - please ensure you entered the URL correctly
Is it a go ahead?
