Hello, i want to apologize for my very bad english, but i hope u can all understand me.

I have question about content clusters on blog sites. I'm freshly in seo and i want use content clusters on my 3 sites.

If i have keyword: "how to be successful" on pillar page and on content clusters: "how to be successful money" it's be ok? I mean it's just longtail, i should do all longtail and parent topic: "how to be rich" on content clusters? It's not cannibalization keyword?

And what article google up me in google search on keyword "how to be successful": pillar page or content clusters with "how to be successful money"?

Can someone help me understand this content clusters?

Thanks.

That's completely fine. It works better as you unintentionally target more keywords that way ;)

Keep an eye on the Google top for each search query - and if the results don't change, you don't need to make separate pages for each low-frequency search query.

Not for all LongTail keyboards, based on the keyword mapping you do, you can easily figure out which words of the article you need to create.

Content clusters it´s just a way to structure your site heavily based and highly specific to one topic. The reason behind it is to make sure ALL the content published on a site is semantically related to that one main topic.

This is why we build SILOs and why internal links and anchor text are so damn critical.

This is a crucial step in the process of building "topical relevance" and, in that same path, "topical authority".

I hope this makes sense.

If not, here are some resources on the topic that I am sure will explain this far better than I will ever do.

Lastly, I highly recommend you to research "semantic SEO" as well and check publications and YouTube for videos from Koray Tuğberk GÜBÜR.

He´s the guy behind the site Holistic SEO, and he has some amazing articles on the topic.

I hope this helps, cheers!

Thanks for help bro.

On this link i read:
For instance, you might create a pillar page on skincare, and then your cluster pages revolve around topics like:

  • Skincare routine for men
  • Skincare routine for women
  • Skincare routine for old age
  • Skincare routine for acne-prone skin
Each of these cluster pages targets the same general keyword, skincare routine, and thus, they compete for the same keyword in terms of ranking. This phenomenon is called keyword cannibalization.
Soo longtail can't be clusters content? For example:

"how to be successful" on pillar page can't have "how to be successful money" on content clusters, it's should be on pillar page, yes?
"how to lose weight fast" on pillar page can't have "how to lose weight fast in 2 weeks" on content clusters' it's should be on pillar page, yes?

Correctly should be:

Pillar page (keywords): "how to lose weight", "best way lose weight fast", "how to lose weight quickly"

Content clusters (topic):
- obesity treatments
- how many calories do i need
- healthy foods
- diet plan
- exercise plan

(...)

Sorry, but I want to be sure I know what's going on.

Thanks guys!

The big danger with content clusters is that there are many different ways to ask the same question.

Make sure you don't keep asking the same question over and over.

Otherwise, you're going to be cannibalizing your target keywords.

The key here is to understand the proper context of a question and target the question that shows up in paid SEO tools like SEMrush.

These are questions that you know can pull traffic and are worth competing for.

Now, don't get me wrong.

There are variations that may get more traffic, but it's a crapshoot.

You're really in the dark.

It's much better to look for keyword or keyphrase variations that already show up on paid SEO tools and come up with a comprehensive answer that is better than what your competitors offer.

Are you referring to having different pages for all of those topics? Or having all those terms on the same page?

Ps. "how to be successful money" doesn't make sense. "How to be successful with money" is better.

This might help clarify your question and many other potential confusions regarding keyword clustering.

It's a 1h video but it's totally worth it
