My business has flourished over the last 2 or 3 years. This is a consequence of a significant number of top three positions for competitive keywords within my industry.

I am considering using 99 designs to makeover my site to give it a 'more professional look' something which is currently lacks.
This would be a natural next step for me.

Couple of questions to the community if I may.

Should I be concerned about losing placement if I substantially change the site? I would aim to keep as mush as the current text as I possibly can.

Out of around 8 pages (on the site) only the home and 1 other have any significant rank. Can I slim down the pages again without SERP penalty?

Finally has anyone any experience of using the 99 designs service? Mate of mine has (he has no significant SERP Return) and has nothing but praise for them.

You probably won't experience substantial ranking changes if you leave the text intact, or at least recover your positions sooner or later.

I don't have experience with 99 designs' service but I am sure they will be overcharging you for the same quality of work you could get with a premium WordPress theme (many you can find for free on BHW) or a freelancer here on BHW.

I have changed my sites before and they have dropped rankings. Simple things like changing the theme and plugins. It has only happened on one or two occasions though.

I'm of the philosophy that while its important to build...if it ain't broke, don't fix it.;)

Sometimes we get too familiar at the way our sites look and change them unnecessarily. Does it really need a makeover or are you just bored at the way it looks?
