Luka, I want to wish you and your people in Libya all the best for a new and prosperous country. There is a lot to be said for freedom.

Hopefully they'll be able to maintain some transitional stability so the Libyan people can establish a representative government. It's all for naught if another dictator gains power.

I wish the best for free Libyans, and congratulations for ousting Ghaddafi.

    Good luck.

I can't speak for him but I'd be careful to congratulate any Libyan on the murder of Gadaffi.
Under Gadaffi, Libya had the highest standard of living of any nation in Africa.

Gadaffi wanted to unite Africa under a new gold standard and nationalize oil profits for the wealth of Libyan citizens which is something the West couldn't allow.

Hopefully Libya comes out better off than "Democratic Iraq"

Comparing any standard of living with the rest of Africa is silly. Some of those places are still trading in beads. Libya's $14,000 medium income isn't that much.

Gadaffi committed International war crimes. He promoted terrorism. He killed over 35,000 innocent Libyans. He tortured his own people, including children. Most of the world views him as a monster. I can see that in some countries the people are told only what their government wants them to know.

Gadaffi was a colorful character in a cartoonish way. Personally, I think he was crazy.
