    Hello folks,

First, thanks for all that you have contributed to the forum, and the many things I've learned since joining. I will one day be able to contribute more and at that point I'll do all I can to help this community.

Question: Ok, I bought and read Chris Rempel's Conduit Method e-books and have thrown up two conduit sites with product reviews using his wordpress template.

    1) Do you guys think a conduit site about digital cameras is a good niche? I'm using product reports on cameras that are $150 to $500 and give a 4% commission through commission junction.

    2) In the video, Chris looks for stuff like "product name reviews" with quotes in google to see how much competition there is. I understand this part, but why does that help find competition to our product pages when the word "reviews" is not used in the template, and he says to not use review in the domain name?

    3) What sort of keywords do I want to use in my articles? If my product is "digital camera 1" and I am writing an article about it, do I use "digital camera 1 report" or "digital camera 1 review"? I guess it's confusing because he stressed that the site shouldn't be associated with reviews, but reports rather, yet there doesn't seem to be a search demand for "digital camera 1 reports"

    4) would it be a bad idea to register a few domains and upload different versions of the site with different keywords/modified text to prevent duplicate content deindexing? Like one version is heavy on "reviews" one is heavy on "reports" and one is heavy on "complaints & comments"

    5) his template doesn't have meta keywords/desc. Any suggestions? If I get keywords for articles in response to #4, would it be the same thing basically?

    Thanks for any/all feedback/comments/suggestions!

Also, if anyone is good at this type of marketing and would like to mentor me for a while and answer my questions, I'd really appreciate that, and could offer one way links/programming to benefit the mentor.

Any success with the sites you built yet? Anybody else try the conduit method?

I would like to try this on subdomains of some exisiting niche sites and blogs I have. Just curious to see if others have had any luck with these types of sites. Any feedback would be appreciated.

    Thanks

    To nich:

I use Chris Rempel's Conduit Method on one of my affiliate sites. It works very well, but it took some time.

Rempel's method is good if you want to build a long-term authority site. It will take time to build the rep of the site. However, once you become recognized as the "Go-to" site for honest product reporting in your niche, then you can start seeing money. Build a list first by giving away free reports and stuff via opt-in. Get people to keep coming back. Let them know that your site is a "no fluff" product reprting site.

If you want to make faster money, I don't believe that the Conduit Method is effective, since the whole idea is "soft selling" by means of "reporting" on products as opposed to the high impact squeeze page approach.

    Cheers! - "Wiz"

I've had surprising success with my 1 conduit site. I've been too busy to build more.

    This is about product names.

Search in the Google Adwords tool to see if people are searching for a particular digital camera model. If they are, build a page for it. Those product names are where the money is. IMO any product name that is getting searches can be a page on a Conduit site (OK, as long as people are buying it online).

I would suggest camerainsider.com or similar. Research the individual camera model names and a good vendor. Put up pages for those and target the product name in your page titles and page headlines.

That's the basic approach I've used.

Oh, the other thing - I used the html/php template - the ugly green one that many people are using.

I also used close to the exact paid linking methods he gave in his book (the second more detailed book that came with templates).

The stuff has worked for me. My advice would be to follow the method closely to what he described. He gave all the details you need. You might need to read the book a couple of times for it to sink in that you won't be "selling" and so on. That was hard for me (and my writer) to adjust to.

Again, his unmodified advice worked for me.
