was just outside on my balcony, noticing a lot of eye floaters in my vision, been getting them a lot more recently and it correlates exactly with the heavy computer use I have been doing..

Quick google search brought me to computer vision syndrome http://www.webmd.com/eye-health/computer-vision-syndrome - apparantly more than 50% heavy of pc users have this .

symptoms are: Blurred vision Double vision
    Dry, red eyes
    Eye irritation
    Headaches
    Neck or back pain

luckily it doesn't come with any known long lasting effects, which is lucky or we'd ll be fuc*ed :)

Get in the habit of every 30-40 minutes getting up and moving, looking at other things etc.. Looking at your screen all day is a terrible idea

This. Also, to reduce eye strain, install f.lux and EyeLeo (the last one can be pretty annoying though :D)

Yeah it's happened to me too. I've been in the habit of changing screen brightness.

Sometimes the screen would be difficult to read and I'd be thinking "oh no my eyes!" and then I realize I had my brightness and contrast all the way down...

Our eyes are very strong. Just don't stare directly into the sun, even if it might give you superpowers like that one guy said.

Glad I am not the only one! My back has been killing me lately... really must look in to buying a new office chair.

Been having trouble with my eyes recently, so will take a look at the f.lux software that has been mentioned.

I think that I may have a touch of this myself. My eyes were already a getting sorta bad, but when I started working online this much, they became horrible. Lol after a long day of writing and whatnot, I walk outta my office like f*cking Mr. Magoo. And a pinched nerve in my shoulder makes IM as painful as my old job at the steal mill. Oh well, at least now I can afford insurance.

Man, I tried it and it's a bitch in the beginning. Plus, it makes the screen look like you are in a cartoon world.

Gave up though. Didn't like it.
