I'm asking here because BHW is super active, and I know we have computer people here. So here's the thing.

I bought a new lap top the other day. It has a 126GB SSD and a 1TB HDD hard drives. I installed Windows 10 on the SSD. The SSD is the C drive, and the HDD is an E drive.

Now I'm thinking, all of the stuff I download and put on the lap top is going to go on the SSD. But I want it all to go on the HDD, and to only have my System files on the SSD.

So for example my Firefox and Chrome downloads (go to desktop), my Torrent downloads (go to Downloads folder), any stuff I move to the lap top from external hard drives (go to desktop folders).

But how do I make it so that it's all saved on the HDD (but not actually in the E partition). Like, I wanna open my folder from my desktop and have my stuff in there, but I want it to count as if it's saved on the HDD, not the SSD, which is how it is now.

I hope I'm clear. Can anyone help?

    Thanks

Adjust your default download directory to go on whichever partition you want. Nothing forces you to use the defaults, neither the browsers nor the torrent clients.

Click the link below if you're new to BHW!
    Home Page:
Create a Downloads folder in E:

Open chrome://settings/ and set the downloads location to E:/Downloads

Open about:preferences in firefox and set the downloads location to E:/Downloads

Right click on the Downloads folder in E drive and Select Send to --> Desktop

Don't move your app directory to the HDD. They will be slower. Especially not Chrome or Firefox.

But modify the download directory of each so big files are stored on the E: drive.
You should find plenty guides online on how to manage that set up. (setting library on the E drive as well.)
