This is my first journey ever into making money online. I know little about anything but thats OK. Im a doer. I just lost my job, but thats OK to because I make a respectful monthly income on the side that doesn't take a ton of my time.

OK, so here is how Im going to do this. Im going to put it all out in the open. There is no sense in hiding anything from the people Im asking to help me. Hopefully if Im completely transparent with everything Im doing then maybe you guys will be more likely to lend me a hand.

I realize my niche will probably be stolen, or not, because it most likely sucks, but I don't care. If i can achieve even slight success with this niche I know there are thousands more I can keep to myself. Once I learn the steps to creating an income stream it wont be hard to rinse/repeat.

I want to build a website around the term "Tactical Backpack" that generates revenue through amazon. Im not sure if I should do a review site, blog, or one that poses as an ecommerce site and sends you amazon at check out. I'm having the most trouble visualizing how my site should be laid out, but w/e ill get to that.

I feel like i will be doing a lot of outsourcing when it comes to writing & keyword research, because I hate it. So theres that. Maybe you guys can point me toward a resource or two

I would like to do almost everything else myself so that I can learn the ropes.

Hopefully there will be a few of you that are willing to help me out along this journey. I know there will be some that will try to conquer this niche before me(if its even worth it), but thats ok. Maybe someone on here who is a boss and doesn't like to see the little guy get picked on will teach me how to kick your butt lol.

Whats a low, but decent budget for this project?

Best of luck with this journey. 100-150 bucks should be enough to get the ball rolling.

Dude, you seem smart enough to pull all of this off. Just keep focused. I would say top 10 articles with links to each product would be good because anyone that's already researching them is pretty much ready to buy. So don't over complicate the Amazon aspect. Just direct them to the most helpful path. Also, if you need some survivalist type content, I can help. I've been an outdoorsy nerd for years now and I just happen to write. Just pm man.

In to see your journey because I have a similar site (different niche) that uses Amazon as its primary revenue source. It's only around $10/day, but at least it's something and I do zero upkeep on it currently. I'm interested in adding Amazon "e-store" to see if that might boost revenue, so hopefully you'll be incorporating that into your approach. I'm assuming you did some keyword research on "tactical backpack" or is it just something off the top of your head?

EDIT: Just saw that you said you plan on outsourcing stuff like content writing. I don't know where you're from, but you seem like a native English speaker, so I'll just point out that any budget-friendly writing resources here are going to be noticeably worse than what you could write on your own. Since you were asking about what a suitable, yet low budget would be for this project, I'd strongly advise you handling the content creation yourself. It'll save you money, and it'll be higher quality. Ultimately, no one wants to buy based off a recommendation that barely reads like English, so you'd be shooting yourself in the foot by cutting corners there.

Makes sense, I just can't picture myself writing an article on " 10 Benefits of a small tactical backpack". Maybe because I've never done it before.

How much is the backpack? Maybe some of your budget should go towards purchasing one.

Then video tape yourself "unboxing" it - you can do other videos too like review, "many uses for", etc. to give yourself some fresh content that does not require writing, will give you another stream of traffic and make your site look more legit.

You could even raffle it off through a facebook page or something "like to be entered" to get fb likes or email addresses or whatever.

I saw a BHW thread earlier on a guy selling wordpress sites that looked like ecommerce but then checkout went through amazon. Do you think something like that would work if I added a blog to it?

From my experience, amazon ecommerce store don't work unless you have other source of driving traffic to the site.... And you need to keep sending visitors to the site before you can earn.

And if you want a reliable article writer, then look up the user: passionatewriting. you won't regret it.

If you can, go with a review kind of site and have a landing page for your main product.
    Best of Luck.

This makes sense. I will definitely hit up passionatewriting. I don't really have a main product picked out yet. I should probably get on that

To be honest I thought the same thing. But once you try it a dozen times or so you really get creative. It becomes second nature. Are you a fast typer? The more you work on these things the better your overall typing becomes. Read about your topic, really immerse yourself. Trying watching videos, movies, reading books at the library. Get familiar. You will be able to recall nuggets of information that may not be wrote down online. I have wrote about some really mundane and worse topics with ease. It just takes practice and persistence.

Better to go with Review blogs. You will have contents those will valuable for your blog's readers and they will buy from your link. You can go with E-commerce but that's is too much costly I think. Caz, you will need the paid traffics. But when you come with Review blogs, you can do SEO or outsource SEO camping and rank them and get a huge number of traffics regularly .

And about your budget, Make it 300-350$

    Here I'm going few things:

Keywords research: Mostly 10$ (You can get from BHW market place)
Premium theme+plugin: Almost 70-80$ or if you can find out a group buy it will cost 20-30$ (Try to save money as much as you can )
Domain+Hosting: It won't cost more if you know how to get it. Domain only .99$ from Go-daddy for the 1st year and Hosting cost will be 5-6$/monthly as well you are not going to get million of traffics. You should target the buying keywords and target 20K-30K traffics and and so, it will cost 5$ on the 1st month and when you will have 20K traffics on your blog, you will earn $$$$ so, you can invest for your hosting. I'm using one for my niche blogs with different IP and it cost 7$ for each site.

And The biggest invest is here, Content Writing: If you can write the content yourself then you can save a lot's of money. But if you want to outsource them then you have to invest the money here. You will need 10-15 contents on the first month and it will cost
500 words= 5-6$. 500-700 words contents are good. But you will need a fix Home page content and it should be 3000 words+ ...
and then setup the blog with content and then continue 2nd month: 10 more contents
    3rd month: 5 more contents
    4th month: 3 more contents
    5th month: 2 more contents

Like these, you will have 40-45 contents and those are enough a specific niche blog :)

And SEO is the continue process. If you know this, it will helpful for you. And if you don't know SEO then don't do outsource from unknown person. First try to learn the SEO process and then do SEO or outsource :)
