I have started a new site 2 month ago and what was already done is this:

    1. Added HQ 2500 word article to the main site with 2 parts, product comparison table and some basic stuff about the products. I am targeting there a lot of KW's, so no focus only on one KW. KW destiny is under 1%.

    2. Added 3 other pages with 800 word articles and detailed product reviews.

    3. Sharped and tuned the on-site SEO elements.

    4. Dreep feed 120 web 2.0 postings to my main site for 40 days. As T2 push them with GSA DF contextual links. Articles, that used there are spun ones. For anchor text i used a lot of variations of my keywords, some generic ones as well naked urls and brand names.

    5. Registered 5 deleted Tumblr blogs with DA 40+, one of them is 47. Articles, that posted there where manually HQ spun with lots of variable elements and 92%+ unique. Pushed each of them with a 2 tier GSA blast.

    6. Dreep feed one of the review pages for 50 days with same tactique as the main page to 400 Web 2.0 sites. Will start blast them soon.

    7. Added 3 relevant wikipedia backlinks to my main site.

    8. Added some social signals from tweeter, G+, FB.

This are the results till now, as you noticed there are huge jumps up and down, but that's fine for this first phase.

Give it some time, 2 months is pretty new. You might have started link building too early. Keep doing what you're doing and maybe add some more content as well.
Keep us updated with your progress :) Good luck!

Add me on Skype, I started my Authority site 4 months ago, I am facing the same problems as you, perhaps we can exchange strategy's or give some ideas to each other.

I don't think i started to early with link building. I started really slow on top of the quality articles, that i posted on my site. Before i post new content i need to do a research, because there in this nice is a danger to cannibalize my keywords, that are already ranking. Okay, i will do regular updates there and this thread can be an interactive case study.

I can add you, but sames you are also hanged in the process...

Diversity is the key mate, get some link platform diversity throw some audio sharing links, image sharing links, doc shares, video submissions, couple of article submission, business listing, portfolio sharing, design gallery links.

I have already done this all on a small scale and added some more wikipedia links (wikipedia.org) and will blast my web 2.o buffers. There was already some move up with my keywords, one of them is already in top20, but this is still nothing, only the top spot counts.

Get PBN links and blog posts from your own network if you can build.

I would also give it time. It could take more than 6 months before you see any great results. Google doesn't recognize great sites rightaway. Keep up the good work and keep expanding it and you should be fine.

I have noticed, that my main kw jumped to the first page (10) and was there for about 30 min and fallen again back to the third one. At this point will wait about a week and post to some more tumblrs. As ZJelle saying there is no need for any rushy things, especially when i have dreep feed already web2.0 postings for the next 50 days.

I am nit a big fan of PBN, cant afford them right now and buying posts is for me only a short term thing. Google will find them, only the best providers can hide all the footprints, but hard to find such a sellers or they even not sell anything and use them to his own projects.

May you say now i am paranoid, but better careful as sorry then.

I have done some more on site seo and as well some manual backlinks. Serp positions still improving, that can be seen on the attached screen shot. I have also found some nasty ways to replicate or even automatize my links.

Example: I post a manual link to a site with some popular stuff and a lot of the sites pulling that content included my backlink. I got last 3 days 5 links with a high CF/TF. I will do some more researches on this to pull out the maximum juice.

    Thanks for your input.

Got a GURU semrush subscription and fired it up right after i got access. It is an interesting stuff and if you dig a bit you can get some nice KW ideas.

I am posting today a 1000 word HQ article to target one 10k search term, of course the competition is high, but noticed there are 3 sites on first page, that are some kind of web2.0. That makes me think, that there is still some room at the first page.
