Company wants a W-8BEN form?

I live in the UK and an American company who I provide work for wants me to fill out a W-8BEN. What is it?


Does anyone have any experience with this?

It's a tax form you need to fill out as a foreigner for the IRS:

Fill it out, print it, sign it, scan it and send it to the company.

This is a standard form for international vendors for U.S. tax purposes. Domestic U.S. vendors fill out a W9, international vendors fill out a W8BEN or W8BEN-E

Nothing complicated. I filled one out myself when I was 14.

Nothing to worry about.

It is a simple form that everyone outside US has to fill out for any inward payments. Be it UK or Ukraine.

Do I have to add my tax number? I have no idea what these things on the form is asking for!! do I need to sign the part 2?
