hi, would like to know if i can get big problems when i use the name of a big company as part of my url?

Should i register normal, anonymous or not at all?

thanks

Since you would probably be infringing on their trademark, they could have your host shut you down with no problem and possibly take possession of the domain name.

but if they complain and i give it to them for free they will prob. not sue me right?

you should not register it. a waste of time and money

You will receive a letter from their lawyers, and if you live abroad you will also have to pay for the DHL fees, I have seen it happen

Stay away from getting in the waters of big sharks....Believe me...you would not stand a chance..

I think it depends what you want to do with the domain. I have domains with a number of auto manufacturer company names in them. I've never had any kind of legal problem, but the sites are all fairly small, so i doubt they attract attention. I do know of some really high traffic web sites with trademarked names in them that have been around forever though

I did not mean that one would be immediately in trouble...If luck favors you and you strike it big....you would not be able to milk it...

Or, if you host at Hostgator, they occasionally crack down on trademark names in URLs, since as you know, their network security nerds all have legal degrees.

well..as far as i remember, one of the members of the bhw family owns googlez dot com. I was wondering if he ever got into any issues...
