Brilliant strategy but they got caught.

?It is estimated that, during a single two-week period, E-Sports took control of approximately 14,000 computers in New Jersey and across the nation, and generated approximately $3,500 by mining for bitcoins,? according to the New Jersey attorney general?s office.
The 29 bitcoins E-Sports received in the effort are worth $15,000 at current value.

It should have said that there was a total of $15,000 worth of BitCoins earned after a total of $85,000 worth of electricity was used.

F** 29 Bitcoins. Paid $1M. Typical bad luck Brian case. I am wondering how it first got caught.

I remember watching people selling these bots. Almost point and click to take over the zombie PC's about a year ago for very cheap.

I love the stories of students using their university's computers to mine for BTC.

Bitcoin mining is still huge. People use vps's and run these tools all the time. Hell, even I have a miner laying around on a shared vps I bought a few months back (No idea who installed it and i never ran it). This kid who sits next to me in one of my university classes gets .5 - 1 BTC each week from mining.

Lol, get people to sign up for your fake "[email protected]" team, and put their computers to work bitcoin mining instead.
