Commenting with a link on a popular video: Backlinking?

    I know many comments would get marked as spam and no-one would see it but the point is the comment and link would still exist, so is it worth commenting on viral or high PR videos with a link to your own video a good backlinking strategy?

    I can't help but think I'm missing something here.

    Links contained in YouTube comments (as well as most social media comments) have a rel="nofollow" attribute. This means that the search engines do not index them and hence they are not counted as valid backlinks.

    Bummer, okay thanks for the clarification, tube tool box could have been good for botting that. Ho hum.

    Speaking of which, what do you think of the program? I'm torn, it could work well, but any messages that I get from TTB users I just mentally ignore as spam, but maybe that's just what I do.

    What with SEO getting tougher, I'm wondering what other things we could do to get traffic.
