I just came across a technique, that is hopefully new to some of you, to build traffic to your site and to build credibility. Basically, you are going to combine the power of Yahoo Answers with the power of YouTube.

The first step is to go to answers.yahoo.com and find a question related to your niche. You then create a screen capture video, using either Camtasia, CamStudio, or Jing that answers the question. This is really simple because it takes no more time than just going through the process and talking it out as you go.

Once you have your video created, jump over to YouTube and upload your video. Make sure that you add your website's URL in the description, and make sure that you fill in all of the relevant keywords.

Once the video is up on YouTube, jump back over to Yahoo answers, find the question that you were answering and refer them to your YouTube video. This kind of thing won't get blocked as self-promotion by Yahoo Answers because you are sending them to a tutorial and not your actual website. Somewhere in your tutorial, however, you can promote your website.

This is a technique that is using the new wave of video marketing. These types of methods, using video, are quickly replacing the old methods article marketing. Google owns YouTube, therefore it tends to rank videos from YouTube pretty high.

Using this technique, you will get traffic to your website from two different sources. You will get traffic from people that find the video on YouTube, as well as traffic from people searching for the answer to their question on Yahoo.

I think sticking with article promotion is still relevant because of the indexing and keyword factors. Also, videos are linear narration. Some people resort to them, but others ( such as myself ) like open narration, where I can find my information through content.

With video, if I am looking for a certain answer or something specific in a tutorial, I have ot watch the entire thing, or haplessly move around the video. Unless the video is less than 45 seconds or has me in the first seconds of the video, I would highly prefer it to be in article form.

Transcribing video audio would be an amazing complement. And you could add it to the information on the right of the video I guess?

You're very welcome. I know what you mean. We all tend to over complicate things and try to come up with the sneakiest tricks and methods. Doing this we forget that easy, simple things can work very well too.

Great technique. I have been using Yahoo answers to get links for months and now I am going to add this to my technique also.
    Thanks.
